When visit Lysefjorden please visit the Mountain kjerag and the famous kjeragbolten. 3000 feet drop.
If you have tent with you camp here and eat good grill food and watch base jumpers when good weather summer time and Beautyful sunset.
3 hour hike up. Worth it!
Be careful up there. And use real good clothes. Shoes hiking and have a set of wool under wear with u on the trip. Temperaturen can drop in nights.

It was very enjoyable cruising down the fjord seeing all the attractive building scattered among mountains on ant flat land available. I also liked seeing all the waterfalls. The Boat was very good except for the lack of seating on the top deck. All the views were amazing.

After the Geiranger Fjord I visited this fjord with a private 3 hour excursion as the fjord is an hour from the port where cruise ships dock. The interior of the fjord is wild and when you enter it seems to be in the scene of The Lord of the Rings when Frodo and the others cross the river guarded by statues of the ancestors. The landscape is wild in its pure state and spectacular arrival under the waterfall. We were also lucky in that upon our arrival we were greeted by the rainbow. the hike also includes a view of the Preikestolen from the area below.

Taking a boat trip along the fjord on a splendid sunny day is priceless. Very high cliffs, waterfalls, small villages and fabulous nature. It's a shame there are so many people on board but you can carve out a little space to make a hole

We took the boat trip lasting 3 hours.
The show is absolutely superb.
The little extra is seeing the captain come to feed the little goats who arrive as soon as they see the boat arriving.

We were on our Norway trip also in the Lysefjord and can only recommend a boat trip, we had the opportunity to go with a RIB boat, and that was pure enthusiasm.
If you like it a bit more comfortable and leisurely, a boat tour with an excursion boat is recommended, this takes about three hours and is just as nice (but we already had this on our last visit).
It is impressive to drive between the steeply rising rocks and feel the waterfalls almost up close.

We took an excursion from our cruise ship - a 3 hour boat trip up the fjord, going past Pulpit Rock. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, we had never imagined such beauty in a landscape. It was a lovely sunny day and the boat slowed down often to allow you to take photos including going very close to a lovely waterfall. The boat has a large inside seating area but you could also go outside on two decks. There was also a coffee and waffle stop about halfway at a scenic café. This was a major highlight of our cruise for sure.

Lysefjord is one of the most popular fjords in Norway. Lysefjord was formed about 400 million years ago due to a tectonic fault caused by the movement of plates of the earth's crust. During the ice Age, this crack was filled with ice, which moved towards the sea, pushing its weight through a deep V-shaped fjord. The popularity of Lysefjord is due to accessibility and entertainment. Accessibility is ensured by proximity to Stavanger, which is only 25 km away in a straight line. The fjord can be viewed from above from the Prekestolen (Pulpit) or from the water. And these will be different fjords! In terms of time, the least expensive way is the Prekestolen. I chose him. The famous "Pulpit" is located almost at the neck of the fjord. Most tourists choose this option. Lifting does not require much physical effort and is accessible to both teenagers and the elderly. To see Lysefjord from the other side, you need to drive to the tiny village of Lysebotn by bus from Columbus. From Stavanger in one direction it will take 3 hours and 20 minutes. There is a more spectacular option with a ferry. Lysebotn is the starting point to the second famous landmark of the fjord- Kjerag- a huge boulder stuck between two rocks. Getting to it is immeasurably more difficult. From Lysebotn only to the starting point for trekking to Kjerag it is necessary to walk 8 km. Since I arrived in Stavanger in the morning and had only a day, I immediately ruled out visiting the famous stone. But if you have more time, why not?

Fantastic fjord with tall mountains on each side. Waterfall. Pulpit Rock (Prekestolen) which figures in Mission Impossible 6, where Tom Cruise clings to the edge. You can take a daycruise here. 3 hours, or if you wish, you can combine a cruise with a hike to the top (takes the whole day).

We went into Lysefjord on a rib boat and I absolutely loved the scenery. The pictures really do not do it justice, it's so difficult to really get a sense of how high the rockwalls etc are. Pulpit Rock looked tiny from the bottom, with little ants on top. The waterfall was cute, it looked like there had not been lots of rain recently either and the little cave was stunning. My neck was sore from looking up and all around me, definitely worth a visit!
