I was completely overwhelmed by the beauty of this incredible town. The waters are gorgeous surrounded by some really neat buildings that I'm sure have lots of history in them by the age of them.

The walk up seemed easier and quicker than I remembered it from my last visit in summer many years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised to note that they've added markings every 50 steps or so to let you know how far you've come...so you always know how far to go! It wasn't a good day weather-wise at all, but... More

We walked up the 418+ steps to the top. We are in our mid 60s and it was just fine although we did have to stop once to rest and also take some pictures. The view is amazing and well worth the trip. There is a nice snack shop (and at night it looks like it would be a beautiful... More

The view from Mount Aksla is not to be missed when visiting Alesund, Norway. You can walk up the 418 steps or catch the cute little train which drives through the pretty streets of the town. You have a panoramic view from the mountain top of Alesund below and across the archipelago to the Sunnmore Alps. There is also a... More

Borgernes veg is a well marked path to walk on arround Aksla. Its good markinking tell you where to og, both on the North side and up to Aksla Stadion . From there you can walk to Fjellstua. Borgernes veg starts from the Park, Very Nice to jogg on. Have a Nice trip :)

This is just a regular hiking side behind the mountain and you are literally walking behind the mountain and do not get a good view.

We visited this... More
