We were just walking in the area and without realising it on first glance, I thought it was a real man and I was ensuring that I didn't step on him as we passed, since the space between the monument and the bus stop in...More

This sobering little statue can help you remember to be grateful for all you have. It's easy to miss and I was happy to spot it, kind of across from the fish market.

We were roaming around Bergen and came across this statue and we were very curious about it so we did a little reasearch. The sentiment behind it is very moving. It is said to be one of the most photographed statues in Bergen.

Thought it was a sculpture dedicated to the homeless. We were walking through Central Bergen and came across the scupture of a seated man leaning against a building.

Art in public places can be honouring, puzzling and irritating in equal measure. We were drawn to this figure, sitting as a homeless person might be sheltered against the wind. On the day of our passing someone had placed a bouquet of flowers on his...More

A standard statue in the centre of Bergen, popular with the tourists, quite a laugh to get a picture with, but not something to take time out of your day to visit. You will no doubt walk past it and you must take a picture

You don't expect to see a statue on the floor by the door stepped entrance, do you? We were all struck by it and it gave us great pause. I looked on trip advisor to find out about its origins.

We passed this statue a few times during our two days in Bergen. Our five-year-old son noticed it at one point and we were able to have a nice talk about privilege and compassion.
