Visited in August 2017, the cathedral is under construction. May take several months to finish based on construction activities. Avoid the place. Skip Bergen as Natural History museum is also under construction. Hotel rates are outrageous too!

So we were only able to visit for a short time. A beautiful building and Bergen's cathedral. In a nice part of town -- quaint homes.

The history is interesting that it was the first church built after the reformation and therefore Lutheran. But with the extensive renovation going on I would skip this church until it is finished.

I am sure this will be a great place to visit when the restoration is complete, at present much of the building and surrounding area is like a building site. Very old - but unfortunately not much to see at present.

People working here are amazing! Check out the columns and the cannonball stuck on the outer wall. Very peaceful spot on my Bergen travels!

The church is beautiful, both inside and out and carries lots of history. Definitely worth a visit to check it out.
