Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Last week the new cable car in Voss, west Norway, opened its doors to the public on Wednesday. We passed through the town on Sunday and had to try it out. The price is a little stiff, around 40 Euros for the returntrip per person, but beeing catapultet 800m in altitude up the mountain in around 6,5 minutes in a ferrari red, pininfarina designed, gondola has its price. It is not a priceless experience but it is what it is... On top you have a great view and endless tracks for hiking. There is also a brand new restaurant which serves both hikers/mountain bikers and fine diners. The homemade burger is super good and many of the main ingredients on the menu come from local producers in the area. We have to come back in winter though when the ski slopes are open. Voss is just one and a halv hours drive away from Bergen. So vi are looking forward to that.

I have been to VOSS in June when the weather was hot and sun shines in the sky. Nice views with spattered lakes around a waterfall that would like to listen to its music for a long time. Definitely a good place for lovers of nature and those who need clean air to inhale

Our tour group stopped in Voss on the way to Sognefjord and Flam. Driving down the mountain to the town we were treated to an absolutely spectacular view of the huge lake, ringed by mountains, that was mirror calm! I have pictures with perfectly focused reflections of the actual terrain ... not a ripple. Just jaw-dropping gorgeous.

The town has a very pretty, historic stone church with picturesque graveyard.

As with most places in Norway, simply almost too beautiful to believe.

We visited Voss during our transit to Flam Via SogneFjord. This small fascinating town is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, lakes and fast flowing white water rivers hence making it as one of the sports hub. You can enjoy Ski, water sports, ski diving, Paragliding and many more sports. As per the information we got from here was this place hosts World’s Premier extreme sports festival every year in last week of June.

The town has many small cute shops selling souvenirs and huge Troll Figures…. Which are very interesting to take photos with.
The town also has a beautiful church, entry into the church is at a charge but you can definitely move around in the church premises. The lush green land around the lake with blue water edging with snowcapped mountains is simply jaw dropping site…. You will see many people doing kayaking, paragliding, doing exercise, some would be camping, some for picnics in and around this area. Lots of parking space available so not an issue to explore the Town.

To munch you have quite a few restaurants nearby.

I loved the place and wouldn’t mind visiting again.

The neighborhood is very beautiful, charming and cozy, surrounded by mountains and overlooking a lake, We stayed at fleicher’s hotel, the coolest and coziest architectural building in the area,
I would recommend staying in Voss if you want to explore the nearby area, flåm, Gudvangen and the fjords in the region.. it’s probably the biggest of those towns and has good public transport, shops and scenery.

This is a great place to ski, the slopes are very good. You can do downhill skiing and cross country skiing. I tried both and liked them both. There are black diamond, red, blue and green. It’s not crowded like other very touristic places to go skiing in Europe, US or Canada. The town is really nice too, to go for a walk or to have lunch or dinner. Beautiful views.

In fact, it is very hard to find a place in Norway where you think it is not beatiful. Every place really has its own characters, most of all that peacefulness feeling. It is exact the same for Voss. Something more about this place is, it is a kind of a connection point of many things, it is very easy to access through public transporation or driving by yourself. All the outdoor or indoor activities are not too far from each other.. you can do indoor skydive ourdoor ski, hiking, kayaking, camping etc.
Or just simply walk around the center of the town or the lake nearby the Voss library. It is just an enjoyable town that you can stop for a day or two depending on your journey.

Voss is a picturesque village in the heart of Fjord Norway. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers, fjords and lakes. I enjoyed all the magnificent scenery and the never-ending vistas of heavenly landscape. Truly, Voss is nature's abode.
