The walk to the top of the hill where the fort is isn't too tough and it's well worth it. The fort is very well preserved from the outside (unfortunately we couldn't go in because it was closed) and the hill top gives you great...More

I was there for X-russfest, so never been inside the fortress, but it has decent view. You can see all the city and beautiful Nidelva(river) streaming through the city.

Took the trip uphill to the fortress with the promise of great city views only to find the trees so overgrown that the view was obscured and lots of construction works on the fortress itself which restricted access.

There is no charge to enter here and stroll around (even the parking is free for a short period of time). You can get a good view over the city, plus some of the history from around the fort. It's worth visiting even though you'll...More
