Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Oslo is very fortunate in having a long promenade with lots to see and do along it. It links many of the main sites together e,g. The new National Museum with the Opera House and Munch Museum

Perfect strolling along the waterfront with unique views of the water and the unusual architecture. This is where everyone congregates and is a perfect spot to sit and watch people. Perfect on a sunny day, slightly less than perfect when it rains. You will spend time here, and it is well spent.

A splendid promenade from the trikk station to the tip of Tjuvholmen.

Stroll to the gleaming opera house, then all the way along the harbour to the Astrop Fearnley MOMA, and beyond to the beach park.

The promenade has one after another restaurants, bronze statuary of nautical themes, and ice cream kiosks.

Stop for lunch or dinner at the many seafood establishments, or a drink on the floating lounges.

This is the best place in Oslo for people-watching, enjoying the Oslofjord vistas, bird-watching, and a morning jog. A definite must when visiting Oslo!

What a lovely walking area around the waterfront! For browsing it was the best, enjoyed the sea smell and sounds. Was initially looking to buy ferry tickets and didn’t readily see signs directly me where to do that. Had to ask a local person. Maybe a highly visible sign in English about where to buy which kinds of ferry tickets?

Somewhat akin to Copenhagens Nyhavn area, but edgier and more gritty. Bars bistros and pop-up food vans/containers a plenty. Interesting and easy and safe.

The views, new and old buildings, surroundings, restaurants and folk life makes this a very good way to take in the norwegian capital. Do not rush it, plan for stops and enjoy.

It seems that a lot of money and thought has gone into renervating the harbour area of Oslo. So many fantastic shops, bars, restaurants and cafes to visit plus the lovely new modern art gallery with views across the fjord.

A very picturesque view of the area and the Akershus fortress. It was a very windy day when we walked, but it was so beautifully clear that we didn't mind. It was a nice refreshing walk after busy travel day.

We visited the promenade on several occasions during our visit to Oslo. It has wide open spaces, and the promenade extends for a couple of kilometers, taking you to other sights of Oslo. Particularly when the big ships are in town, there is plenty to see.
