Taking the " trikk " as some Norwegian still call it can be an excellent way of getting around the city especially when you are pushed for time. You get views of the Oslo fjord from both the Sognsvann line and the line to Holmenkollen. In addition it is an easy walk from Manorstuen station to The Vigela d museum.... More

I Oslo the politicians, force the citizens out of their cars. But the substitute is more expensive and feels like hell on wheels. If you like strangers eating beside you, screaming into their cell phones, cramping against you, listening to bad music on speakers, feel free to take the "Ruter" way.

Even though it's not that fast and rather expensive it's a good choice for moving around in Oslo. Either you're going from downtown Oslo to the ski jump in Holmenkollen, The Tryvannstower or for a walk or swim in the forest at Sognsvann or other places. On the way to Holmenkollen it's offers amazing view of the capital.

Was a super way to travel to and from Holmenkollen ski jump as the vast majority of the journey is above ground. Towards the top the train travels slowly as there are some very sharp bends as it winds its way up the hillside. Amazing views and a good way to see a bit of the suburbs of Oslo.

Enjoy the cosmopolitan relaxing urban life of Oslo. Take this time machine and enjoy the wooden treasures in constellations of evolving urban integration of architecture and nature. Ride all veins of Oslo and you will be amazed of the achievements of the Norwegian mind in this now the capital of your heart

The Subway in Oslo i expensive, slow and overfilled in the rush-hours. In the city-stations there are lots of pick-pockets and drug addicts. I have seen better and I have seen worse...

Really enjoyed my stay in Oslo because transportation was so easy with the trains & trams and buses. When you get a pass be sure to pick what region - I only did region one. Worth the money

The Oslo subway is clean, safe and usually on time. It is about 30 mn from dowtown to get to Holmenkollen and Frognerseteren where there are ski and sledge runs.

Leave your car at home. It is easy to get around using the Metro lines and when you can't get close enough to where you want to go, just change over to the tram. Easy travel to all museums and parks and the University. You can download the "RuterBillett" app and buy your ticket as you go.

OK it is an urban transit system but it is efficient, very clean and very helpfully there are announcements in English as well. I used it a few times but the journey to Frognerseteren in December was particularly attractive. It can be a great way of enjoying the local scenery. Good value tickets very easy to use and the trams... More
