Getting on the water in Oslo is a must. The whole city is anchored by waterways and getting out on a boat is essential to a great visit

My wife and I took the boat ride on Oslo Fjord to visit Hovedoya and Gressholmen islands. There are some beautiful views of the city and the harbor from the islands.

We used our Oslo Card to take a ferry ride to the islands and stayed on board for the return trip. It was fascinating to sail out among the islands and other shipping to experience the busy waterway. Sight seeing of the islands, the wildlife...More

Took fjord cruise to see the harbour. The cruise only runs on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Can book via Oslo App. It was cold and snowing so rug up. They provide blankets. There is a small bar for hot drinks. Lovely way to spend 2hrs....More

Such an easy fjord to get to because it's right in the centre of Oslo and wraps around the whole suburb areas. Pretty in winter!

The nature in Norway is just so very lovely! Oslo Fjord that is just part of the city is a must see really. Just go down to the haven from the Central Station and enjoy.

Really enjoyed boat tour in the Fjord in January although it was absolutely freezing!!! Don’t underestimate how cold it is if you take a bot trip in January as we had multiple layers but were still very, very cold. Beautiful scenery makes up for it...More

Take the bus west and get down near or at Vollen. There is a small ship building museum that is worth 1/2 hour of your time then stroll next to the water and feed the ducks. There are tea rooms and bakeries nearby.

The cruise is a really good way to get to know the islands and the summer houses. The view is amazing!! Unfortunately I don’t think the boat is prepared for winter cruises as everyone left the top area because of the cold and snow. Freezing!...More

We did a boat trip which was very expensive although good fun and quite informative. The small islands are fantastic and some of the houses are stunning.

The Viking ship museum is wonderful. Get a hop on hop off bus pass because this will take you there. Next door to it is the Norwegian folk museum so the same bus will do. Akerhus fortress is another must see and within it... More
