Very well laid out museum with large complete selection of very well known artists, including Picasso, Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet, etc. including a large room of Munch paintings, - yes 'The Scream' is there. Located in City Center area just off Karl Johan's Gate.

The main reason I wanted to come to Norway's National Gallery was to see Edvard Munch's 'The Scream' and the rest of the room dedicated to his work, but there is also a whole collection of other great artists on display too, including the likes...More

The main reason I went to the National Gallery in Oslo is of course to see "The Scream" by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. It does not disappoint. There are a few other noteworthy ones to look out for: Munch's other works, Rodin's sculpture "The Thinker",...More

I appreciate, but am not a consumer of fine art. The National Gallery was a nice surprise for me. In addition to Munch's The Scream, there are several other works of his in a gallery, that shows you the type of work he did, outside...More

We had limited time there and thus skipped the audio tour. Still worth the visit.

I don't recall any parking there. Roads seems to be quite narrow too. Most of the major sights in Oslo can be traveled to on foot, or through the reliable bus or metro.
