If you're looking for "The Scream," it's not here, so don't be disappointed if you don't see Edvard Munch's most famous painting on the wall; but there's a lot more to Munch than just "The Scream" and there are a lot of other paintings here...More

it was not easy to get to using public transport, there was some construction and we had quite a walk from the tram...when we got there I felt the staff were a bit irritated by visitors. We had to put handbags bigger than a small...More

I had read that the museum had the biggest collection of paintings by Munch but I was a little disappointed when I found out that, yes, they have it, but they just show some of them for some months. Basically they have 4/5 exhibitions per...More

Of course, I wanted to see The Scream and it wasn't there. He was a very depressing, and seemed to me arrogantly dismissive, artist. I do appreciate his creativity and steadfast dedication to his "vision" of what being an artist was all about at the...More

Museum is notthat big. Kids are free and adults pay 100kr. The introduction film has no subtitles and my Norwegian is not that good. We had to wait one hour for an English version. The information is quite scarce and by that the visit is...More

A selection of Munch's works were arranged into four rooms by theme. We found this to be a great way of learning about the artist. The audio guide did not provide an overview of all pieces, rather an understanding of the themes. It spoke about...More
