Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is the best place to see the lights if you dont want to do a tour and just want to stay local to the city. We saw them from this beach 3 of the 4 nights we stayed last night being too cloudy. There is not a lot of light pollution around so makes it ideal. I didnt have a tripod so my quality of photos are not the best but it was still magical to see them quite clearly. About 30 mins walk from the town center and there is a bud stop near to the entrance as well. Wrap up tho as being on the coast the wind can be quite strong and chill you easily. Dont go to the prestvannet lake as there are lights all the way round and the airport lights are strong to.

Easy to get to either by walking or bus (we walked there and got a bus back). It has its own bus stop, the path to the beach is clearly signed.
The beach has picnic tables and a wc.
The wind is quite strong and it was significantly colder on the beach compared to the street behind but it would be a good northern lights spotting location.
The buses run until midnight, circa every 15 mins during the day and every 30 mins later at night.
It is cheaper to buy your bus ticket in advance than buy it on the bus (36kr vs 50kr)

Stumbled upon this beach while waiting for the bus close by. The weather was hazy, however, the view was so beautiful. There was an amazing sense of calm at the beach.

It is difficult to recommend somewhere to view the Northern Lights, so much depends on the weather conditions. Having spent a wonderful and successful 6 hours watching the Lights the previous evening, Telegraph Bay was recommended to us as an excellent venue from which to view the following night's expected brilliant display. It lived up to expectation. It was absolutely sensational! We shared the park with only 5 other people in our vincinity. It is within easy reach from Tromso Centre a 33 bus there, and a 34 bus back - and the buses continue past midnight.

Very nice place, but windy. A dark place not far from the city and easy to go with the bus nr. 33. Returning with nr 34 to Tromø- Center

Taking bus 33 from the city centre to this beach was easy and the bus was not crowded.
The place is not huge so it was easy for us to walk around looking for great spots for our photography opportunity. We arrived about 4pm and the sun was beginning to set and the light was just great for photo. We had many nice personal photos taken at this beach.
Highly recommend this place just before sunset for some great pictures of yourselves with the snowy mountain as background!

An easy excursion out of Tromso city centre by bus. A peaceful and beautiful location with beech woods and mountains in the distance. Close to the University Museum as well.

We travelled down to the beach from Tromsø centre during the evening to photograph the Northern Lights. Beautiful area to see the lights and very easy to get there and back by bus
