An old-fashioned museum with very little to see. Third floor was closed. The museum shop only had a couple of books and stickers. Not worth a visit.

Small, locally interesting, overpriced and not worth more than 90 minutes. The staff was capable, but neither engaging npr greatly knowledgeable. The story told is interesting, but raised lots of questions. I reckon a two year study completed for a PhD could be converted into...More

I really enjoyed my visit to the Museum Nord and even if I spent there couple of hours I could have spent one more easily to get to discover all the details of the exhibitions :) There are many things written in Norwegian but when...More

I was disappointed by the museum. I honestly don't wish to be disrespectful but it was neither very interesting nor very well done - at least for a non-Norwegian. I struggled to connect the exhibits to the surrounding area and I got the sense that...More

A delightful museum with terrific displays of early town life in Narvik, some insight into the history and strong living culture of Sami people, and experiences of the town during war. I felt that this museum was curated, and is operated, with love and pride...More

Of all the museums we visited in Sweden and Norway, this was the only one that included a whole room to the Sami, their culture and their traditions. The other displays were equally as informative about this industrial town. The staff were very helpful and...More

Narvik is an industrial town and there are not many activities for tourists outside of exploring the place. But the Museum Nord, found as you head south towards the Port of Narvik, is an interesting stop if you want to learn more about the town,...More

The outside of the museum is beautiful and it houses different collections of things that show the towns history - including depictions of rock art that go back thousands of years. There's an old classroom, train carriage, a large section about the war. Most descriptions...More
