The saltstraumen was a great visual experience. We were in here in early december and not the best time of year but it was still an experience to view these extreme tidal currents in action. The feature was when a boat went with the currents...More

What a scenic and easy walk down to the waters edge. Some fisherman fishing right by the old lighthouse and no one else was around apart from them. With the beautiful Børvasstindene Mountains serving as a backdrop, we literally forgot about the malstroms! It was...More

Don’t pass this site over. Amazing views, great little hiking trails around this natural wonder. Wrap up warm if it’s cold!

Very impressive to see. I only have video of the movement of water which creates huge whirls in water. Easy access for general public.

Visited 5he site midtide and found the tide rushing in through the middle with the huge eddies on both/sides impressive. The walk down to the water’s edge is easy with plenty of seating from which to watch birds diving for fish. Local boats were out...More

A natural phenomenon about 30min drive from bodo airport. Have seen a similar near Osaka Japan. This is bigger and yet closer to land . nothing spectacular but worth a visit with a car and time to spend before the moskennes ferry

Not all it's cracked up to be. Unusual but not really spectacular. Certainly dont pay for a guided visit. It's really easy to get public transport at x fraction of the cost. You've come this far so you may as well visit

Was a great experience in this place. But was raining with to much wind. So I couldn’t enjoy as I planned.

A beautiful place. For dramatic views of the streams you need to check timetable but the surrounding landscape it is worth a visit anytime. Nice Kjelen Kaffe nearby.

The Saltstraumen bridge is about a 30 minute ride from the town of Bodø. There is plenty of parking on the side of the road on either side of the bridge and it's a short walk up the bridge. There is a pedestrian walkway on...More

Yes you can the bus service in Bodo is a bit weird there is a tourist office on the bus station although the buses don't run from there. As I said in my review check the times of the tide before you go

We had a hire car and parked one side of the bridge and walked over it to the other side. Didn't pay anything - not sure the boat ride would be worth it anyway. The height of the bridge gives you great views. It was April so... More
