Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a very exciting place for those who love ski jumping and the history of the 1994 Olympics. There were training sessions going on while we were there, so we got to see them jump on the big hill. There is a small shop with a few gifts and T-shirts, but don't expect major gifts relating to the 1994 Lillahamar Olympics.

We came in December to ride the tobagans ... When you don't ski, but want a snow activity, this is a great choice! Much faster (and fun) than anticipated. Staff was very nice and helpful. This legendary ski jump is next door. Thumbs up!!

I was in Oslo and i decided to go to another nice small town near the capital. And we went to lillehammer by train. The trip was fantastic and Lillehammer is a very nice town. Near the city center is the olímpic park. If you want to make a trip and you are in Oslo, try this one and you will never regret it!

We went to the Lillehammer Winter Olympics Park on Sept 17, entrance was free. Must be very grand when it hosted the Winter Olympics in 1994.
We were pleased to see the stadium very well maintained & still being used 25 years after the 1994 winter Olympics. We could have but didn't climb the steep steel steps or used the ski lift up to the top to have a bird's eye view. Other than the skiers, the place was quite deserted, the few shops were not open, maybe we were there too early.
We saw some skiers practising on the plastic-like slopes. The skiers zoomed down so fast that I only managed to take a nice video of one skiing down. If not for these skiers, there would be nothing exciting to see here.

Visited on a cloudy, windy & cool day. The ski jump platforms are very impressive. Took the chairlift up and continued down. Amazing views!

Well worth a visit to see where the 1994 Winter Olympics were held. You can get a photo of skiing, near the flame and a bob sled. Walk around to see magnificent views over Lillehammer too.

Good exercise to climb the stairs all the way up the ski jump. Amazing view from the top. It's impressive to see where the athletes actually jump from- I wouldn't dare. We really enjoyed it!

Other than having the bragging right for having visited the actual sight, there was not much to see. Visit if it is on the way for another destination unless one is an enthusiastic sport fan.

We had a great time there, rode the chairlift to the top, took our picture in a sled, and enjoyed the winter Olympic ski museum.

Hi I am thinking of coming end of February, beginning of march. Is there a way to try out the bobsleigh and skeleton on the ice?

Hi Rick and thank you for your inquiry. Do you mean the wheeled bobsleigh? In that case we are sorry to inform you that the age limit is 10 years. Hope to see you here though! We will be open from 10.00-17.00.

How do I get there using public transportation from Lillehammer?
Written 28 December 2014
Hello and thank you for your post!
The best way using public transportation depends on what activity you'll like to try out.
From the center of Lillehammer to the ski-jump arena and tobogganing the best way would be taxi. It will cost you about 20-25 dollars from the center of town. (4 pax-taxi)
Going to the Olympic Bobsleigh and luge track, you can actually take the train from Oslo Airport and straight to Hunderfossen Station. Hunderfossen is located 15 km north of Lillehammer, so you will need to go by train headed for Trondheim to get there. From here to the venue there is just walking distance. (5-10 minutes walk)
You can also go by taxi from center of Lillehammer (approx. 60-70 dollars), or go by local bus to Hafjell and then take taxi from there. (40-50 dollars)
If there is anything else we can help you with, do not hesitate to cintact us again.
