Im SURE that its a nice attraction to visit. We were looking forward to it alot, as we havent been here before, and we finally managed to get our 7 year old interested too. So we went during the school holiday this fall. As it said it would be open. And with a kids farm and the mines and activities... More

We have been to the Cobalt Mines several times and taken our grandsons for the one hour tour into the mines. Our guide was absolutely excellent - enthusiastic, knowledgeable and at times amusing. The boys still tell about how important it is to wear helmets in dangerous situations, having listened carefully to the guide's story about an accident he had... More

This Summers exhibition is a very well curated combination of Kai Fjell and other Norwegian (more) contemporary artist. The exhibition is not big but well worth the trip for the art interested. Especially the few Lars Elling paintings are great. If you go there on a sunny day you will also enjoy the campus. At the campus there is a... More

They have a nice combination of live animals in a farm setting (rabbits, sheep, goats, pigs, horses), playground and recreational park, cosy cafeteria and gallery with art exhibitions. For families with an interest in art it makes a perfect outing for the family. It's possible to see art in between 'meeting' the animals up close, playing around on the vast... More

Blaafarveværket is an amazing place for both children and grown-ups. In the area around Blaafarveverket, there is a childrens farm with animals they can touch and look at, there is a horse and carriage they can ride and they can take a picture with Gråtass the tractor. There is a "beach", the glass hut, shops where you can buy amazing... More

Art Exhibition and Museum set in the countryside. Takes a least one day to visit the entire works and go through the exhibition. Alternatively spend a couple of days in the area and combine a trip to the cobalt mines with Kroederbanen - a historic steam engine trip of approximately four hours leaving and returning to Vikersund every Sunday from... Great place for the whole family. The animals were so tame, could pet the rabbits, goats, cows and chicken! Very nice buildings and lovely scenery. Grandparents from Ireland could not believe that all this was free - finally a bargain in Norway!
