Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to see the ones in Augarten. They were very stark and imposing, an impressive sight. It would be good to see the either repurposed or perhaps just turned into a museum for viewing, even for the view from the top alone it would attract visitors.

Big, grey , ugly if you like , at the sides of a park - the 2 anti aircraft defense towers in Augarten.
Built during WWII with double purpose - on top of both there was a platform that had anti aircraft guns - ranging from 20mm to the dreaded 88mm Flak (the most feared cannon of WWII). Inside there were bunkers that could shelter thousands of people during air raids.
The bigger G type Tower had the heavy 88mm cannons the L type tower had the smaller 20mm cannons.
There are several that are still standing in Vienna - 1 is an aquarium , on top of another there is a restaurant ... so they have a useful purpose today.
This 2 are sort of abandoned - part of the landscape of the park. If you are wondering why those still stand - it is simple the Nazis used so much iron and concrete to build these that simply the work to get those down will cost too much, so until this 2 will also be repurposed they stand tall reminding us an era of war and terror.
For those of you who are interested in history for sure it is worth visiting.

We went to see this one in Arenberg Park. I was fascinated by how they’re just now part of the environment, with little hint of their history. One overlooks a football pitch while the other has a community garden at its base.

Arenberg Park is also a lovely place to relax on a hot afternoon, with a nice outside bar at its edge.

Amazing climbing wall lesson with Christina. Couldn't believe I got the chance to do it. One of the coolest things I've ever done.

A healthy use of a war relic. Those who work there are friendly and competent, there are opportunities for physical contact with some species, which is rare and does not seem to bother animals. Great view of the restaurant / cafe on top of the building.

Although it's now an aquarium and zoo with a bar on top, it's still a WW2 flak tower. If you know what that is, you'll want to visit for that alone. The Austrians, for obvious reasons, don't really celebrate their war history much beyond the Anschluss, but nevertheless a flak tower is a flak tower.... there is a small museum at the top with a fee bits'n'pieces...a rusty panzerfaust, an Allied UXB, etc, and some display boards in the stairwells, and if you're expecting a flak gun on the roof you'll be disappointed, but it is at least still there and a piece of history.

Huge world war 2 remnants. Too well build to be destroyed (economically), one is converted to Aquarium. Berlin and Hamburg also have these.

A nice aquarium. Nicely arranged, with many things to see. If you have visited any average or big aquarium, then you won't see anything new. Quite expensive for what it offers

There is nothing at all, around the Flakturm that tells you anything about how it was buildt, who buildt it, how many used it during airraids and so it. As if it doesn´t exist. It is an impressive and indestructable building
