In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

We saw this superb exhibition portraying the genius of Bonnard with his amazing sense of colour and light. The space is well designed and shows off the exhibition to great effect. In particular the lighting was excellent allowing the paintings to glow and I have to say better than in the Tate Modern. Well done to Dr Benesch the Director!

More like a large gallery, specializing in postwar art. Small, very focused exhibits. Excellent selection in a lovely building.

Absolutely recommending!
This time in Vienna I decided to focus on exploration of arts through the whole week of stay (mostly museums and exhibitions). After 3 travels to this beautiful town, I can honestly say, that choice of Kunstforum Wien was the best experience among all the other spots Vienna ever offered me. Besides being lucky to catch the exhibits of Pierre Bonnard’s masterpiece paintings;
Staff is phenomenally polite and friendly. Everything inside is welcoming, comfortable and simply professional. Building itself looks marvelous from the outside, in the beautiful area of town.
I Became so interested in Their work, that had to research other exhibitions happening in Kunstforum before, all of them being ambitious and thoughtful as far as I can judge by footage available in the internet.
Your must-have if interested in arts! Even if just a bit.
Thank You Kunstforum Wien ! I believe I am going to visit You again soon. :)

Staff is rude and unprofessional,not informing clients correctly about whether they can take photos and on which conditions.simply bullying and everybody told me different things,different info.. I wont visit for a long time if ever again.they laugh in your face if you tell them you will complain to management. They let some people take photos,some they harass.and one of them told me before 7 pm on friday they would close in ten minutes.i opposed her,its 9 pm on their web and such. Nono,she wanted me out in ten minutes,later in a few minutes she came WITHOUT apology,said its 9 pm on fridays. All was disgusting.no more kunstforum wien for me now. Long tume or probably never ever.its not worth the stress...
Place is small,you pay 11 euros,they could sometimes have nice things so why not if you have money for that,but after this experience i wont spend there one cent for a very long time if ever again.such behavior is unacceptable.and i havent experienced it anywhere in any of the european galleries i have visited so far you should be ashamed if yourselves.

This is not a "bank" but an art museum, so don't be confused by its name. It is not to be missed by any art enthusiast visiting or living in Vienna. Check their website for the current exhibition. We've seen Georgia O'Keefe's work there in the past. As I write this, a brilliantly curated retrospective of Man Ray is on view. Always worth your time. Location is very central on a plaza that Viennese call "the Freyung." Many restaurants and coffee houses nearby for visitors. The original Cafe Central (once Sigmund Freud's hangout) is just a few steps away.

We are so lucky to be in Vienna in november during the exhibition of Henri de Toulouse Lautrec. It is magical if you are a fan of this great artist. They really did a wonderful job bij gathering so many major works from all over the world at this exhibition. 6 rooms full of master pieces. Highly recommended!! Entrance fee 10€ full price, but only 7,5€ with the Vienna card, a bargain for the quality of this exhibition.

Major disappointment for me. I was hoping to see the Klimt paintings that they own. When I got there, I found that they're on their 'summer' break until mid-October.
