My aunt who lives in Vienna ordered tickets for us online for the Holy Mass with the Vienna Boys' Choir at the Hofburgkapelle on Sunday 14 Oct 2012. We picked up the tickets at the Hofburg the day before at one of the times outlined...More

We just went to see the Vienna Boys Choir at the Sunday mass last week. It was a very poor experience for us since we had not bought tickets before the day of the show. For various reasons, we couldn't do that, but I read...More

The Vienna Boys Choir has a history that is virtually second to none for the performing arts. Tracing their beginnings back to the 15th (!) Century, the choir was established by Emperor Maximilian I with the intention of providing musical accompaniment for the church mass....More

This advertising was written to make us believe that we were buying tickets for a concert. In fact, it is a mass - a very long one, lasting 75 minutes. On this, the Boys choir sang 4 songs, representing less than 15 minutes. So ,...More

Bought online our near front row Altar seats many months before our arrival in Vienna as we did not want to miss the mass. Each seat is numbered but it appeared confusing to certain people - but an attendant sorted things out. A Mass with...More

We went to Mass last weekend when we were in Vienna and thought it was a great way to hear the beautiful Vienna Boys Choir. We are practicing Catholics, which I think makes a difference, otherwise you might not understand much about the mass, and...More

An excellent way to spend a Sunday morning in Vienna. The Burgkapelle is the home of the Choir and their core mission is to sing at Sunday mass. This they do as wonderfully as possible with a Haydn mass as the back drop. There was...More

We enjoyed being able to attend church on a Sunday though not being able to understand much. It was a well-coordinated service with beautiful voices in attendance. Vienna Boys alumni were the ushers. The choir boys were the younger ones of the choir, backed up...More

As others have said, this is not a concert but a religious service, where the Boys' Choir participates. I decided at the last minute to go, and opted for free standing room tickets. I got there at eight and was the fourth person in line....More

The chapel is very interesting. It's a rather narrow church approximately 3 to 4 storeys high. The chapel is located in a small square just after the tunnel "In der Burg" (where the Sissi museum is located) as you walk south from Michaelerplatz on the...More

We got the better tickets but think anywhere in the place would be good. The service was a typical Catholic service but spoken in Germany. The music was especially uplifting and if you are not religious you will not appreciate it.
