This one looks smaller from the outside, and it tucked away in a square. BUT it is worth every second you spending inside. It's well lit, has beautiful frescos, has gold leaf details, and if you're lucky you can catch a regular mass or concert here. It's worth your time. Afterwards you can walk through the walking streets that surround... More

Seen on a previous tour to Vienna but worth seeing again. Very easy to find , a beautiful church worth seeing from the exterior and definitely worth taking time to see the interior.

This small church is totally worth a visit. It wasn't even top 20 in any online guides which really surprised us. The interior decorations are beautiful. Also frescoes in the domd roof amazing. We were lucky the organ was being played during our visit. Free entry. Take a seat and enjoy!

Steeped in history, this church is breathtaking and well worth a visit. You don't need to be religious just go in and value the treasures you will see.

I attended a gorgeous violin concert of Bach by candlelight in this beautiful old Church. It was divine and as close to Heaven as you can get!

A truly beautiful church in the heart of Vienna. It took my breath with the magnificent ornate alter, the huge amount of life like details and the vivid colors of the paintings. To add to this unique experience is the peacefulness and spirituality you immediately feel inside, with much less tourists and no fees for entry in comparison to the... More

This is a beautiful baroque church very near St Stephens, and offers free half-hour organ concerts at 3:00 pm daily.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
