On the edge of the Wiener Wald you stunble upon this gem. The church is part of a psychiatric hospital with its own theater and other therapeutic stations way before their time.

This Jugendstil church is extremely beautiful - it is one of the prettiest churches we have ever seen and can be compared with the Cathedral in Chartres or - more modern - the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels in LA The guided tour was excellent

The church is located above an old beautiful asylum and below the "Steinhofgründe", a well known beautiful recreation area where you can have the most wonderful pick-nicks on a hot summer day. The church itself is unique, done in a special architectural style. It looks like a mix of an old Egyptian temple, a christian church and an art exhibition.... More

This church is a masterpiece of architecture, it is really breathtaking. They do charge for tours, and are only open a few times a week - but in my opinion the best sights are all free from the outside anyway. The hills behind the church are fantastic to take walks on as well.

Absolutely worth a visit. Impressive architecture by Otto Wagner, just refurbished a short time ago. Very different from what you would expect a church to look like!

This church is one of the masterpieces of Viennese Jugendstil. Built by Otto Wager, the windows of Koloman Moser. It doesn’t get any better than this. Recently renovated to its original splendor, it is well worth the short trip from the city center. Please note, that the church is only open for a few hours during the weekend. Check for... More

This exquisite and extraordinary church, placed in the center of a former psychiatric hospital and center for pulmonology (built according to the plans of architect Otto Wagner and opened in 1907), is an absolute must for Jugendstil admirerers! Make sure you also attend the permanent memorial and exhibition to the History of Nazi-Medicine in Vienna, dedicated to the memory of... More
