Smokey, not a great liquor selection, not a great beer selection. Just wasn't great. Maybe it is better at night, we stopped for a drink at 5:00pm and I just was not impressed.

If you want to grab a drink or a bite to eat with some friends, this is the place for you. Especially in the summertime where you can sit outside without being engulfed by cigarette smoke, although establishments do offer non-smoking sections. It can be crowded and noisy and you might meet some drunken people, but hey, it comes with... More

Since we were new to town and had no idea where to go, we sought advice from some of the local experts. After talking to a couple locals, they recommended we come here. It is relatively small area, but it is just full of restaurants/bars. We went from bar to bar on the various patios having a drink. It was... More

We arrive kind of late but the staff was gentle enough to serve us a couple of beers even if they were almost closing. The place is nice and the atmosphere is peculiar. Definitely i will be back, price are average to low.

Nestled against the Danube near Schwedenplatz, the 'Bermuda Triangle' of Vienna is a real treat for anyone looking for an adventurist night out. It's a weave of streets filled with a wide variety of bars and restaurants. By luck more than design we started at the 'Philosoph', a very friendly, rustic and metal grunge bar that assists with loosening up... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
