Situated in the very heart of Vienna's City center, the Albertina houses one of the most important art collections of the world. Founded in 1776, the Museum today owns masterpieces by Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Duerer, Rembrandt etc. These collections are presented in temporary exhibitions. The Batliner Collection "From Monet to Picasso" is permanentely on display and shows the most important works by artists from the age of modernism. The Habsburg Historic Staterooms of the Albertina give an air of Imperial glamour.

Recently, while touring Vienna an artist friend and I stumbled across the Albertina Museum. We were intrigued by their huge permanent collection of Picasso and Monet drawings and paintings. Their work spans many rooms. Additionally, their are many other famous artists displayed there like Marc...More

We had walked, danced, listened to live music, seen lipperzanner horses and a lot of historical buildings. We went to the gallery not really sure of the volume of original paintings and bronzes from masters Monet, Picasso, Rodin, to name a few, the entry cost...More

In my opinion, the best museum in Vienna, hosting a superb permanent exhibition with beautiful Impressionist and modern paintings. However watch out also for their temporary displays which are always high class. Last year, during the Long Museum's Night they showed Dürer's famous Rabbitt. I...More

Do not miss the Monet to Picasso exhibition. It is worth the trip. Do not neglect the modern gallery on the ground floor since it contains a surprising number of original works by contemporary artists in Europe.

I went to Albertina museum because of the Picasso work, but definitely worth seeing all pictures they have there. The building itself is gorgeous. They have all texts in German and English so it's really great. Totally worth it.

The interior of the building is lovely with some fabulous decor and furniture. I was looking forward to seeing some Albrecht Durer and thought there would be a good display as this was one of the selling points of the palace. There were only a...More
