Nice, green park with lots of flowers. You can lay down on the grass at almost everywhere. Huge spaces, don't have to care about your neighbors if you see them at all. Perfect place for a city picnic.

We were advised to visit Augarten by some friends we were working with in Vienna because it is so much more 'off the beaten track' and quieter than the well known city parks that are inundated with tourists. We walked there and enjoyed the walk...More

If you like history and are interested in WW2 it is worth visiting, else it is just two blocks of concrete. I am not sure if you can big a tour to go inside, but the towers are fenced off

If you are in Vienna and want to find one of the few examples of Nazi war architecture left, it's well worth a No. 31 tram out to Augarten. The contrast between the modern tranquility of this huge park and the anti-aircraft history of the...More

Nearest underground is twelve min away. The park itself is pretty basic, it didn't look anything too special. But it was winter. Perhaps it has more colour and in better condition in summer. However it is worth spending ten minutes here to see the huge...More

Have read about the Flak Towers in Germany and Austria but actually seeing them up close is mind numbing. Recently visited Vienna and went to Augarten. Very easy to get to by subway. There are two here and make us look so small.

My friend and I were staying very close to the Augarten so went for a couple of walks there. Very beautiful gardens, although the 'flak' towers were rather peculiar!

It took me many years to discover this little trasure in Vienna. The Park is amazingly structured with crafted trees (see pictures). The alleys are very narrow so you can get enough shadows even in hot mornings. Ideal for jogging and for a nice walk....More
