The Leopold Museum is a unique treasure-house of Viennese Jugendstil, the Wiener Werkstätte and Expressionism. It is the most-visited museum of the city's hottest cultural site, the MuseumsQuartier, and it houses the most significant and largest Egon Schiele collection in the world, as well as masterworks by Secession founder Gustav Klimt. Tip: The museum's panorama windows offer a wonderful view of central Vienna with Maria Theresa Square and the Hofburg Palace.

We visited this museum on purpose and found it to be a very perplexing experience. Not only was it imposing from the outside and inside, it also had very though-provoking exhibitions at that time. Obviously the managers of this museum are not concerned in making...More

Very interesting to learn, with the help of an audio guide, about Austrian art here. The highlight was learning about the work and life (so short) of Egon Schiele. Good facilities as well. We ate at the cafe as well and found it good.

Art was a main reason for my trip and the Leopold was a highlight- Schiele, Klimt and so much more. The modern sculpture was an unexpected bonus. I also loved the sense if space, the surroundings and the architecture. Cafe Leopold was great too.

Excellent and not to be missed. If you have a serious interest in art then the Leopold is a must to visit. Unfortunately the cafe staff are terrible!! My wife had a splendid sushi meal there but my roast pork was revolting and inedible.

Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries,
arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde
shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with
cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make
for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and
art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at
Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a
perfect hangout on a warm summer evening.
