My daughter and I recently did a trip to Vienna and Salzburg to celebrate her graduation from college as a brand-new music teacher. The Haus der Musik was great fun for our first day in Vienna and got us in the mood to explore and...More

Do not waist too much time on the lower floors. Go to the 2nd or 3rd floor where each room is dedicated to the life story and music of the most famous austrian musicians and composers. Arrange enough time to learn and listen. It is...More

I brought my 11 month old son to this and he loved it. Headphones to listen to differnet sounds...big giant drums, strings, etc to listen to...an exhibit on sound in the womb...all really cool. Plus the histories of mozart, strauss, and others...well worth it

Only in Vienna for the day with a teenager. Wanted something educational and interactive. This was perfect. My highlight has to be the orchestra conducting but it was a varied and good fun. Not really suitable for young children.

After already have studied audio engineering I could still very much enjoy das Haus Der Musik. Not only do you learn about the human hearing, sound in general and a ton of instruments, but also so much about the musical history of Austria.
