We stayed at Hotel Altstadt, which is just around the corner from this market, just a 5 min walk. Its set in about 3 streets and is really festive. a lot of drinks and gift stalls line the streets with boutique, restaurants and bars right...More

Visited today with my husband and toddler. It stretches several streets / alleys and has some great and very friendly vendors! Enjoyed walking through. It is cold and windy so it was nice to be somewhat sheltered here. Definitely worth a look!

Visited this evening with friends and very much enjoyed the lovely bohemian atmosphere, the small streets, brightly lit stalls and general atmosphere. The chocolate shop is divine and the cheese stands inviting. I don’t think I have ever paid so much for cheese however and...More

We just loved the Christmas market on Spittelberg. There is a few small streets with lot of local food and delicious mulled wine and puntsch. Our favourite was the hot dog with Käsekreiner (sausage filled with cheese) and the apple cinnamon puntsch. You can also...More

Not a huge fan of this one. True, it is more intimate and local, but it’s also more difficult to follow because it’s not all together. It lacks the festiveness of the bigger, more centralized markets. To me this one seemed more like a series...More

We spent four days in Vienna in late November 2016 and it was wonderful. We would recommend not only the markets but exploring Vienna as well. It is a beautiful city.

Having visited over 10 different Christmas markets this past winter in Vienna, this market combined the best of local boutique stores, restaurants and crafts. No cheesy imports or schlock. Spanning three blocks there is plenty of variety, and it's all local. Put this one on...More

This is worth putting on your short list of Christmas markets in Vienna. It is located on a series of street close to the museum district. There are more local crafts available and the overall setting is more intimate. There are also many local shops...More

Another of the Christmas markets we visited on our pre Christmas trip to Vienna. This one differed from most of the others in that it was less commercialised, selling more hand made goods and other items not seen elsewhere rather than mass produced items. It...More

I would definitely suggest to visit the Spittelberg Christmas Market during your stay in Vienna. It was my favourite one with a real traditional market feeling and touch.

Usually there are less markets open after Christmas. But the main ones (Rathaus, Schönbrunn, Maria-Theresien) are still open until NYE and turn into New Year market with slightly different offerings vs. Advent time.
