This offshoot of the Danube River flows through the city just north of the downtown area and, with paved pathways lining its banks, makes for a pleasant stroll.

We boarded the boat thinking we were going to see something interesting and we end up falling sleep as there was nothing to see. We went half way the canal when it turned around. 23€ x2 waisted. No value for money.

A nice way to explore the beauty of Vienna is by taking a cruise on the Danube. You can also walk on the river bank and enjoy the sights. If you have a Vienna card, the cruise is included.

We stayed at Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront Hotel in October and enjoyed views from our hotel. Unfortunately our room did not look over the canal but the dining room and bar area did. We also went for a walk along the waking/cycling track for a...More

...what this was meant to offer. Staff were pleasant enough but pretty much all you see are riverbanks with graffiti and social housing! So it was a good place to keep warm for a bit but 70 minutes was too much for something this uninteresting!...More

Just visits the Panama Canal and was a little disappointed. Not large but very important to the area. Interesting to watch especially when you going through it.

Danube canal is a good spot for a leisure walk when weather is good or as an starting point for numerous boat cruises. Not the most attractive of all activities around Vienna though.

Very disappointing. The 17 km trip overall, goes along the canal before turning and returning the same way. Almost the entire length of the trip is adorned with grafitti, so unless you want to have a fairly expensive limited menu meal on the water, I...More

It´s good to know Donau Kanal is not Donau River! Kanal is bayou, trench - and not worth to see. If you like to travel for awhile by boat, drink beer and maybe eat something in sunny day you might take a risk. I do...More

This came free with our Vienna pass. Its one of several trips that can be done with the Danube River Cruise company. It was a bit disapointing only taking us up to the lock and back again. If you like graffiti art you are in...More

Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The
