We are passionate about the Christmas markets and this is one of the most beautiful we have seen in Europe. Every market has its special and differentiating charm, but what we loved about this one was the play of lights on the threes and the...More

In my opinion it is the best and the biggest christmas market in vienna, althou it is very crowded. There are many stalls with different items made by hand.

I'm no expert on Christmas Markets and my trip to Vienna was my first foray into this sector with the Market at Rathausplatz being the first on many over the weekend. It's big and varied with loads of stalls and plenty of eating and drinking...More

Make this visit at night for spectacular lights, wall-to-wall people watching and ice skating! The shops are numerous although there are duplicates. During the day it is easy to shop as the crowds are thin, but you miss out on the lights. Easy access via...More

Nice Christmas Market. We went just after dark, lots of families, great food, and mulled wine, also ice skating. Would be even better with more music.

This Christmas market at the Rathaus is very large. There is a big ice skating circuit next to it as well as some clever nativity scenes using original photos of old buildings to create the nativity scenes. The lights are terrific and include some attractive...More

It was so crowded by tourists that it was difficult to walk. Due to the crowd it was not possible to have a look at the offer. It's missing the charm and filing.

Hello, a cup of mulled wine and punsch is about 3,5 - 4 EUR. You have to buy a mug (4 EUR) but it is a deposit so if you don't want to take it home, you can return it. We didn't eat there but I think the pretzel is also... More
