A stunning venue, with the stage built upon the lake and the patrons sitting on the shore grandstands for the operatic performance. Carmen was excellent. The cast was first rate, as well as the musicians. The Bregenzer Festspiele was the reason we came to Bodensee,...More

Quite a spectacle, great use of the scenery, great performance. But- sits very narrow and uncomfortable for over 2 hours sitting. The subtitles in german were useful for me, but not for my company, English would have been great.

Saw Carmen on the lake. Impressive production using the stage and water. Impressive singing by Carmen. This yearly festival should be a fixture for everyone who likes opera or wants to experience Opera for the first time. Rigoletto in 2019/2020

Carmen the opera was excellent. The stage was top. How they did everything I don't know. The water and the death scene were perfect. Nice combination or singing and orchestra. Seating for handicapped can be a pain, but somehow got in. Then sat for 3...More

I attend many Opera festival but tis must rate as on of the most special. Advice is stay in Lindau and take the Shuttle boat. I leaves each evening and returns after the Opera. 22 Euros return including free drink!

The open air fest is awesome. The only thing is that you are rolling the dice with the weather. We took ponchos once as the play went on despite the drizzle. Still I have been there 3 x and only had rain once

You can walk up the Fender. It's a great walk through the forest. And a great view of Bregenz from the top.
