Wonderful history of Kitzbuhel. Favorite discovery was the original paintings of Alfons Walde - absolutely amazing artist I’d never heard of. Great display of old ski equipment (skis, boots, clothes, etc.) and history of Kitzbuhel. Great thing to do on a non ski day (opens after 2PM).

The Alfons Walde exhibition actually made me curious to go to the museum. Since the history of the town of Kitzbühel is shown in great detail, I spent some time there. The presentation of the golden age of the Kitzbühel Ski Club with its outstanding ski stars of the time was also impressive.

I was lucky to find this museum open one evening. It contains an eclectic collection that spans the history of Kitzbuhel. There are explanations in English for many of the items. As I recall, the museum covered the history of the region, mining in the nearby mountains, common household items, winter sports and a collection of works by local artists. A nice way to spend an hour or two.
The museum normally has rather limited hours - had it not been open the evening I walked by, I might not have seen it. I'm glad that I did!

We enjoyed the "Museum Experience" about the history of Kitzbuel, it has International appeal in an attractive historic setting. The displays on each floor were set out in an interesting and informative way. The section about War Time was good and the Artwork was interesting to observe. A hidden Gem of a museum and a perfect way to spend a couple of hours of any Holiday Summer or Winter. We hope future renovation is in the style of the original building!

Unfortunately most of the exhibits did not have English translations so it was very hard to appreciate what this museum was all about. The art work was 'an acquired taste'. Not a well spent 13 euros. Cannot recommend a visit here.

There was an exhibition by Alphonse Walde; an Austrian artist but who's work was familiar. The building was spacious, rustic, informative. (not a dusty old 'museum') Might cause problems to those less fit due to 4 floors of exhibits

An expensive release ant waste of time!
Very little actual history of Kitzbuhel but lots of not very attractive recent paintings. More of a gallery than a museum.....

An interesting and centrally located look back at the history of the legendary downhill course of Kitzbuhel. A lovely addition to a visit to the town to learn about the Hahnenkamm. Worth an hour or so.

Lovely small Museum located in a wonderful old building. This museum has items that are always there and others that are revolving. It's a good place to view works by Alfons Walde, who lived in Kitzbuhel. You will come away with a good idea of the age of Kitzbuhel and it's history. Great way to spend a few hours.

An interesting museum about Kitzbuhel, could have had more in English, no audio. Worth visiting if staying in the village. Great view of the town from the roof.
