We came to Kitzbuhel for the day and jumped on the lift in the morning, buying a ticket to get to the top, walking down to the Alpenhaus before getting the lifts back down. This was a superb idea. At the very top the view...More

Such a nice area - great variation of lifts and slopes. Big pluss for many covered and even heated chair-lifts.

Skiing the Alps was great and highly recommend. This was a great starting point for the mountains. Gondola was great and accommodations on top and bottom were good.

Need it to get up to the ski slopes. You have to be patient because people are coming in from at least two sides to get into the gondols. Good mood is needed!More

Hello 618heidih, thank you for your feedback. There is only 1 Gondola where waiting times can occur during busy hours, which is the Hahnenkammbahn. There are 6 other gondolas that can bring you up to the skiing area without queuing s such as Fleckalmbahn or...More

We loved the slopes in Kitzski! the only negative this we encountered is that after a snowfall in the morning the slopes were in very bad condition and most would surely benefit from a groomer. We even saw snow cannons operational during heavy snowstorm! as...More

The Hahnenkammbahn is a great ride, especially if you are not a skier (like me) and therefore possibly blazé about such transport. It costs about €23.50 return and takes you to the top of the Hahnenkamm where there is also a large apre-ski restaurant and...More

A highlight of our holidays in Austria is always taking a tootle on the gondolas. As self-confessed "gondola geeks", who have only holidayed in Austria in the summer up to this year, we were excited about riding some of the winter lifts. We purchased the...More

Yes, there is only one area and public buses run from everywhere in and around town. Westendorf connects to Ellmau's Wilder Kaiser Ski region though. The slopes are endless! Comparable to Aspen, Vail, Whistler.

I will have a 6 day lift ticket but don't ski. How many lifts can I go up and down? Are there restaurants/warming huts at the top of these lifts?
