Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spend our ski vacations regularly in Austria and our children always go to a week-long ski school. That has always been a great experience for all of us, our children were safe, improved their ski skills and enjoyed every day.
This was not the case with Rote Teufel. We experienced grave situations of poor judgement and lack of care for kids well-being. On one occasion, the kids were left on a chair lift by themselves even though they didn't have the strength to pull down the chair barrier and stayed throughout the ride without the protection. On a heavily rainy day, the kids were left to wait for 30 minutes in pouring rain before being taken to the slopes (by then already fully wet), no one thought of putting an umbrella, or letting them wait on a covered location.
A very disappointing experience, I suggest you consider any of the other ski schools AND AVOID Rote Teufel.

Thank you for your feedback. Even if we would have been more happy if you had contacted us directly on site than to make a public complaint on the Internet, we have of course researched your case.
In fact, the weather was very bad during your ski week and it rained very heavily. As you know, our assembly point is in an open field, which unfortunately does not offer any shelter, especially not for more than 70 people. Likewise, the ski school unfortunately cannot provide umbrellas in this number. However, some parents had umbrellas for their children. Unfortunately, umbrellas do not help while skiing because they fold already over at low speeds. Only good clothing helps here.
Since the courses always start at 10 a.m., it would also be possible to appear a little shorter before 10 a.m. However, in this weather it was only a matter of time before you were completely wet.
We spoke to the relevant teacher about the incident at the lift. After the ski area was hardly visited on this day, he decided to get on the lift with the smaller children of his group and to help them, since your children were already larger than the minimum size.
The minimum size is determined by Bergbahn AG and the state of Tyrol. From this size children are allowed to use the lift without an accompanying adult. They are tall enough to reach the lift bar and should be able to close it. The professional staff of the Bergbahn makes every effort to ensure that children only take the lift from this size onwards. Unfortunately, we couldn't clarify 100% why your children couldn't close the bar. They have probably pulled on the cord for the weather protection, which is much more difficult to close than the light aluminum bracket.
Of course, our teacher reacted immediately and always waited for adult companions on the following lift rides so that they could ride with your children in the lift, since he had to take care of the smaller children in the group.
Nevertheless, we understand your concerns, of course, and we would like to apologize for this uncomfortable situation. However, we hope that you will now better understand the background of our actions and recognize that our teachers are constantly striving for the well-being of all children.
We would be delighted if you would visit us again and give us a second chance to show you that the Rote Teufel ski school is not without reason one of the best ski schools in the world. A call to everyone on the Internet to stay away from the ski school, from our point of view and experience has unfortunately not helped to clarify such situations. We would have been happy to find a solution with you on site and explain everything to you.
Sincerely yours
Rote Teufel

Thank you for a wonderful week. Both children have had the most fabulous time! Eliza went from nervous and crying to a fantastic performance on race day. Cas and Arno were brilliant. Your ski school is a credit to you and all the instructors are fabulous. Henry had a lovely time with Ilse, Clara and Sophie. You were so flexible and helpful. Thank you so much for making our holiday,

I had 5 days lessons with Ryan at the Rote Teufel Ski School between the 10/2- 14/2. Found him to be very professional and a great instructor, by the end of the week I had progressed from being able to do some simple reds to doing some blacks. I had a great time

I have been to Kitzbuhel several times and I love skiing and it was very important for me that my 6,5 year old daughter would love to ski as well. The first day was very important as she would refuse to continue if she did not like it. We had Elise as a private instructor for 4 full days and she was great. My daughter learned skiing through fun, enjoyed skiing and enjoyed talking to her. Elise was dedicated and patient with her. We have already made reservations for next year and my daughter is not only looking forward to skiing, she is looking forward to skiing with Elise.
thank you Elise, have a great time till we see you next year.

We booked 2 private lessons, although expensive (158 Euro for 2h, 2 students) they proved to be enough to get started, we only ski 1 time before.
First one we covered the basics and turns and the 2nd one was super, Arthur the instructor took us on the mountains on the beginners slopes and give us 2h of leaning and fun !

Both my sons had 3 days of ski school and enjoyed every second, I think its great that its an all day affair and that the children go to the mountain restaurants for their lunch, makes them feel such a part of the group.

My wife, four children and I first went to Austria in 2010. We decided to travel to Kitzbuehel in February of that year. We really liked it and returned there again 2011, 2012 and again last week. We have just returned home to the rain in England after a week of beautiful snow and sunny weather in Kitzbuehel. I must say that the Skischule Kitzbuehel Red Devils are an excellent ski school.
We took group lessons on our first visit but did not make the progress that our friends thought we would. We spent more time in a bus being taken up a mountain on the other side of town. For 2011 we decided to take a private family group lesson and were given Kevin as our instructor. We requested him last year and again this year.
Kevin has made skiing together as a family in a group possible. He has managed to keep two teenagers, an eight year old, a six year old and two adults skiing under control and given us the confidence to explore the mountain. He has got us skiing at the same speed and gives us specific individual exercises to help us all with our skiing technique.
Skiing is a difficult sport and the job of a ski instructor must be difficult. The instructor cannot operate the skis for you!! This website is here to give opinions and just because one person feels like they had a bad experience with an instructor doesn't mean that he or she is a bad instructor. We have skied in France & Switzerland and found that skiing in Kitzbuehel with Kevin from Skischule Kitzbuehel Rote Teufel is something that we have enjoyed immensely. We will look forward to it again next year and have recommended him to our friends for their visit in March.

We used this ski school on recommendation from our tour operator. We initially booked for a one day lesson at the local office but our group were so lovely we ended up paying for a further two days without issue. The lady in the booking office was great. Our instructor Ryan was fantastic and had us all on the mountain on the third day giving us the confidence to practice on our own rest of the week. Would highly recommend the Ski School to anyone visiting this resort 👍😃⛷
