Very nice city

We were lucky to visit the city in a time where less tourist flooded the streets. Nice streets, beautiful buildings and of course everything around Mozart and "the sound of music"

Most of Salzburg's buildings of interest are located here, in a compact area easily covered on foot. And just over a bridge is the new city, with the rest of the things to see within easy reach.

Long way up. But the train was great and the view amazing. Even the teenagers thought it was cool. Also very busy restruant , basic but good.

The old town is obviously unique and you need time just to wander and explore and look for the things that you find interesting along the cobbled street areas and the more smart shop areas. Very clean and well managed for tourists but make sure you have reasonable footwear as this is definitely not flip flop or soft sandal country.... More

It is very easy to just glimpse at these beautiful horses façade as you drive past. It is worth stopping a looking properly at this 17 century horse pond and the Pferdeschwemme- a statue in the well that was once used to water Archbishop’s horses. It is located in Karajan- Platz in the old city.

You have to see the old town of Salzburg. It the main attraction with all the good staff in a little area. You find all shops, restaurants, important building and land sites there. It's a must go place!

I can't believe I have not been here before. The old town is very romantic. Beautiful churches, buildings and squares. On a negative note there are way too many beggars. They are intimidating for a girl alone. The city should sort this out.

Have visited Old Town and offers many places to see. Old Town is much like other German cities, clean and with many shops. There are many brand stores but notice the prices are not small at all !!! In conclusion this place should be visited and deserves to spend some extra money, you will not be sorry :-)

Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the ambiance of this amazing ancient city. Renowned baroque architecture, it is one of the best preserved city centers north of the Alps and is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site.
