Able to go in and have a look even though it was closed (opens in may) worth a look. Would imagine this place gets busy during summer season as walkway is quite narrow. Not suitable for disabled or anyone with mobility problems.

We parked at the top car park near the kiosk and paid the cheap entrance fee (€4 with our tennengau card). The walk to the dark gorge only takes about 5 minutes and I imagine it is much better if you go in the evening....More

If you like nature and hiking you shouldn't miss it if you visit Salzburg. Even if you have only an hour free time it's worth to visit this. It's very cheap.

We hiked this gorge on a day trip out of Salzburg. Easy to find the parking lot as it is well-marked. Restrooms near parking lot too. Stop at the kiosk and pay the fee, just €8. Hike down the right hand trail first. This is...More

Chanced upon this gorge on a drive from Germany to Austria, and took the opportunity to stretch our legs and have a little hike. It's not the most gorgeous gorge, but it is well-maintained and rather nice for short hike (about an hour or less)....More
