Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Trendy, fashion chic shops and boutiques line this main avenue along with cafes and restaurants. Very busy during Christmas period with tourists and locals alike. Lucked on an entertaining quintet playing Christmas tunes on their brass instruments---they drew a big crowd who were really into the festivities!

Cobblestone shopping street with chic boutiques, bistros and cafes, connecting the city's main square to Karmeliterplatz, a picturesque square located on top of a hill, right in front of Schlossberg Park. Although the street goes up the hill, it's not so steep.
The historical buildings lining up alongside the Sporgasse street are all good looking, hiding interesting details.
Walked along this street just before Christmas and it was a nice experience.

Latest fashion seems to be to hang the trees upside down, and Graz surely is a trendy city. The street looked lovely with the trees and lights

Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. And a few surprises. Like a secondhand shop that is crammed full of amazing stuff. Just a door in the wall really. But inside .... I bought a weekly magazine printed in 1915 for Euro 3. What a surprise, what a bargain!

Walk up Sporgasse pass the always fully packed bicycle racks. Admire the lovely buildings that accommodate a range of shops & eateries. A beautiful Gothic arcaded courtyard called Hof des deutschen Rittenordens is paved entirely with Murnockerl….cobblestones from the River Mur. This courtyard is stunningly beautiful!
Further up Sporgsse is the Palais Sauerau built in 1566, its a 4 wing palace & if you take the time to look up you'll see sticking out & facing down from under the gable a Turkish Warrior. It's a figure shrouded in legend.
In this area are some fine restaurants.

There are lots of lovely gasses in Graz, in the vicinity of the Hauptplatz. But Sporgasse is magnificent in that it is sloping and narrow.. Depending on which way you go, yup or down, you can find revealed before you all sort of vistas, eg walking uphill you will notice it curves towards the backside of the looming Schlossberg. Walking downhill you will slowly see the beautiful hauptplatz, its buildings and trams. Indeed, the vista down is the better. There used to be a marvellous konditerri in the Sporgasse, but sadly it's gone.

Cute quaint street in the old city centre with tiny shops. A bit steep. There is always someone playing music on one of the corners. Don't forget to look up: the houses are all unique tiny gems.

Sporgasse is lined with some awesome shops. The Eleni Boutique in particular is great for women's clothes. There are also two fabulous ice cream shops directly across from one another, a watch shop with beautiful watches and earrings, and a great record/cd store. Combine this with a beautiful view and it makes for a wonderful day.

Nice shopping street. There are also restaurants and cafes.
Really crowded, especially during Christmas time.
But really worth a visit!
