Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Landeszeughaus in Graz, with over 30,000 exhibits, is considered to be one of the largest historical weapons collections in the world. Entry is free for Graz Card holders, otherwise you pay €11. It is open daily except Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Both the building itself and the large number of exhibits are well worth seeing and absolutely impressive.

This is incredible preserved history with the option of learning a lot from a local guide about what you’ll be seeing. My husband said it his highlight in Graz. It brings to mind how brutal those times were and how labor intensive and uncomfortable battle gear was to produce and to don. This is a fascinating museum. We highly recommend it!

The Landeszeughaus museum opened in the late 1800's and consists of 4 floors of weapons and armour from the 15th to the 18th century. The collection includes around 32,000 items and is considered the largest of its kind in the world. We spent a couple of hours there,

I visited the Landeszeughaus with my girlfriend. We were both blown away by the sheer amount of weapons on display. Despite that modern necessities like lights or windows, it really struck you just how quickly a militia could be armed there.

Before you ascend, I still maintain that it is best experienced bottom to top, you need to clear your mind and imagine there's an enemy at the gates. You will feel like a proper defender, almost spoiled for choice.

The Arsenal is truly a place apart, if only for the curiosity that constitutes the maintenance "in its own juice", without reasonable cause, of an 18th century armory for several centuries.
There is something of the "time corridor" when you go through its 4 floors.
These are not big and the tour can be quite quick.
Worth seeing, both for the few exceptional pieces and for the serial nature of the 32,000 pieces.
The welcome is friendly and, oh surprise, they can give you little tour brochures in French.

Our visit to the largest historical collection of weapons in the world was well worth our time. We were pleasantly surprised with the exhibits and our guide was great. Purchase your tickets early to ensure you get the day and time you want.

Very impressive collection of weapons, which will interest children in particular. It is not much my thing and I think this place can be visited rapidly, hence the average ranking I'm giving it. Probably a bit pricy, but I helps preserve the fragile weapons. A unique thing to see, but not my favourite memory of Graz.

At 8 euros each for entry we thought this would be worth a visit, just 20mins later we were back on the street 16 euros worse off. All this building has is 4 floors with rows and rows of more or less the exact same armour. There are no descritions or efforts to put the armour in context with when it was used, who by or what for. Have to say this is the worst exhibition I have ever visited. You are told strictly on entering not to touch anything so can imagine that those with children would be very disappointed. You are asked to leave your bags in a locker in the tourist information because apparently there are lots of small things which can be taken, there is nothing small (must already have been taken) and think I'd have struggled to get a 2m long pike/spear or large body plate out without someone noticing.

Even if you're not into weaponry, you can't help but to be intrigued by this museum. The largest collection of 15-18th century (mainly infantry) weapons in the world, the + 30.000 items are exhibited in a semi-warehouse setting, which makes it quite unique. To further enhance this 'real' armoury look & feel, almost no info panels are found within the museum. Therefore, it's advised to book a guided tour in order to really enjoy this collection. We did the 1 PM English tour, paid € 2 pp on top of our entrance ticket, and were pleasantly surprised that we were the only 2 who booked that day, so we had a private tour ;)

It's amazing how much effort and ingenuity went into killing other people, and Turks in particular. If you ever had any doubt that Eastern Europe was a fight for survival for centuries, you will be left in no doubt after visiting the armory. The armor and weapons on display are the pinnacle of what European technology and wealth could create. Mind you, a few Mongolians with silk shirts and superior tactics made all that look silly.
