The Schlossmuseum’s collections are well worth visiting. I especially enjoyed the extensive collections of folk art from Upper Austria, they are first rate. Recreated rooms, furniture, focused collections of religious art and household items, and a multitude of decorative arts items evoked the style of...More

We did not have much time available and so only visited the temporary exhibition, which was excellent. Well done. One of the few generally interesting places to visit in Linz.

We enjoued our visit to the Museum. Based on other reviews, we focused our visit on the items we were most interested in. The krippen exhibit is very local and excellent. We loved the arms display. And the Art Nouveau glass was wonderful. The folk...More

This really is an amazing museum but unless you have all day, you need to be disclipined! There are four floors of activities and it was really quite quiet. If you are over 60 it is free! There is a nice restaurant with great views...More

You won't know where to go first here. Should you start with the extensive folk art section? The military weapons? The musical instruments? The coins? There's a technology area, several rooms full of beautiful and intricate furniture/glassware/utensils, and a section with religious art, as well....More

I visited the museum late in the afternoon. Even though on Thursday the opening hours is extended, the old part of the castles with the paintings and the historical section closed at 6 pm. I wish I had known it before as these 2 sections...More
