Although it is quite expencive for a family to get there (16 € adult, 7€ children) the view is breathtaking, and we came on a rainy day. Can imagine how it looks on a sunny day. The view is worth every € spent!
Amazing views from up there! Gives you nice clear unobstructed(as long as you can get past the tourists) pictures! Two ways to get up there! You can take the furnicular or you can walk-the path to do so is right besides the place to buy...More
Of course, to get here you have to take the funicular. But it is worth it. And besides, you may be heading a little higher to the Salt works for a tour.

It’s worth the trip to the top of the mountain! We didn’t do the salt mine tour but the view from the top is worth it. There is also a walk with informational signs that gives you some of the history on the area.

Hi we flew into Vienna from Scotland and got the obb train which is in the airport to aftang then changed to another train to Halstatt. The train stops at the ferry port which takes you to Halstatt. Train price was around £100 return. Ferry is only 2.50 euros. Well worth the trip it is amazing

Hi Bernard. I believe this is the only sky walk. We took the tram up and walked to do the salt mine tour first, which was a great experience for our entire family, and then walked down to the sky walk and tram. I know many people walk the entire way and do not take the tram at all, but I was recovering from back surgery and did not want to risk it. Hope this helps.
