After visiting the Haydn Explosiv at the Esterhazy Palace, visiting Haydn's house fleshed out his story. It was fascinating to learn more about his life. There were even a few funny stories too. Exhibits were well done and there's plenty of English.

Very interesting museum which presents the life and status of a musician who was not only talented but was lucky to work for a music loving family. The exhibition on the 2 trips to London are very well presented.

This is such a great museum. We spent over an hour here and could have stayed longer listening to the informative audio guide (free) and looking at all the interesting exhibits. The building gives you a great feel for what it might have been like when Haydn lived here. When we were here, there was a fantastic exhibition describing Haydn’s amazing 2 journeys to London in 1792 and 1794. Gives a fascinating insight in to travel at that time and all the people and places that Haydn met and visited on his journeys. Highly recommend a visit here!

He and his wife lived here (in NOT perfect harmony) and it's preserved so nicely! And you'll learn a lot, too.

Without Hayden, what would have become of Mozart or Beethoven? Their music would certainly have been very different. This small museum provides a well rounded biography of the man and the musician, and does it in within the walls of a house that he owned and lived in for decades. It is a modest museum that tells the Hayden story in sounds, clothing, furniture and artifacts. You can do it all in less than an hour, unless you want to dig deeper. We were there a decade ago and still found plenty of new things to spend half of a morning.
