- Hannelore HUnited Kingdom279 contributionsLovely and lively beachReally lovely beach, nice and clean, not too big, but very lively. Plenty of little shops and places to eat right there, so could spend the whole day there if you wanted to. One downside was the poisonous jelly fish presence, so need to be careful when swimming - it stings really badly.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 22 February 2024
- Stefano B13 contributionsSafe clean beachNice clean beach. Very convenient parking a stone's throw (100 meters) just 25.00 euro day. Various restaurants on the beach at normal prices but if you want you can also enjoy a good stuffed focaccia for only 6.50 euros.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 August 2024

I recommend bringing an umbrella.
Quiet beach, clean sea.
You can bring a cooler bag with drinks and sandwiches to have a lunch.
Otherwise
There are bistros with pizza slices, salads, sandwiches.
Prices not excessive.
I don't know the prices of the paid beaches but believe me even if there is no sand (small stones) you will be fine!!!!!
I forgot: free beach shower!
It's really worth spending a few days at Larvotto Plage, not before taking a souvenir photo of the Fountain!

Come here in the early morning to get clean water and avoid the crowds!
The beach gets cleaned every morning (except for weekends, I have noticed)
This beach is NOT SANDY... I would recommend getting a pair of beach shoes as the stones/pebbles can get very hot and burn your feet.
There are private sections with restaurants if you would like proper lounge chairs, but you should reserve in advance, especially if you would like the front rows..
Plenty of restaurant choices available and shops as well as a beauty centre!

Flip flops required to walk to the water as this is tiny stones. Clean, well managed public beach with space for all. Private beaches here too if you need a sun bed or parasol (we had our own). The water is clean, clear and protected by a weighted net so no jellyfish.
There are pedalos and kayaks for rent. There are showers and foot washers too.
The beach is backed by small shops, cafes, ice cream shops, bars and restaurants, all clean and modern. There is a promenade and an adult gym on a higher level. No tourist ‘tat’ here.
A lovely facility.

This beach was easy to find, accessible by bus from the train station and just perfect for what we were looking for. We had a short stay in Nice and wanted to be sure to do all the things, that included a trip to the beach, a dip in the sea and a visit to Monte Carlo. We were able to do it all and back in Nice by 2 pm.
The beach was rocky but comfy to sit on with a towel. Washrooms and shops line the beach so very convenient to change or grab a quick snack.

Larvotto's beach is the beach place to be in Monaco. Dont search for white sands, huge beaches or palm trees.... thats not the goal here.
We stay in the tronslat or lay downs.. of Miami Beach restaurant and spend the days there..
Relaxed and with full restaurant service.
The beach is made of small pebbles , likke kitgy litter, but the water is not too warm, its super safe for small kids and you can swim or take a kayak if you want.

My wife and I and our 13 month old baby have spent the past 2 days at Larvotto Beach in Monte Carlo. It's a nice little beach just a few minutes' walk from the town center. The beach is very small so you might want to come earlier in the day. It's a public beach so it's free to the locals so it seems really popular. There are also clubs/restaurants that rent out comfortable chairs and umbrellas but it's a good idea to make a reservation ahead of time as they fill up quickly and get reserved ahead of time.
The beach is very compact. There are many different restaurants and cafes and little stores that sell sandwiches and drinks as well. There is a sidewalk that you can access different parts of the beach. The nice thing is there is something for all budgets as I saw many places that sold sandwiches and hot dogs for about €5 to more expensive restaurants with a nicer atmosphere.
The places that rent out chairs and umbrellas mostly charge about €15 per person for chairs and €5 for an umbrella to block out the sun. We tried going to a few places early this morning and they were already all booked up for the day with advance reservations. Consider that we arrived at the beach by 10:30 AM this morning so definitely make reservations ahead of time. We were going to make one yesterday but we didn't think it would be busy as we got in late afternoon. We ended up going back to La Rose des Vents which is the first restaurant as you walk down to the beach. It's the place with the red umbrellas. €30 for 2 chairs and €5 for umbrella.
The chairs there are very comfortable with foam padding. We had our baby with us so it was great the chairs were so comfortable. The staff was friendly. Keep in mind these places really make their money from the drinks that you order. Again, you don't have to rent a chair but definitely if you have a small child it's advisable as the beaches here don't have sand. They have small pebbles which is uncomfortable to walk on and get VERY hot. I can't imagine it would be comfortable just laying a towel down.
Drinks at these types of places are expensive and you can easily rack up a bill if you're drinking a lot. But hey its vacation and you have to relax and not worry so much about that. To give you an idea, Coke's are €4 ($5.75); a large bottle of spring water is €9 ( almost $13) but the good thing is they serve the bottle of water with a carafe of ice so it's really cold. They also have great fresh fruit served cold but again pricey. 6 small slices of cold pineapple was €10 ( $14.30). Small glass of orange juice €6. I know many people are curious about prices when vacationing so I'm including them.
We also had lunch here at La Rose des Ventas and the food was very good. We had the grilled seabass with fresh vegetables and it was delicious. You can just put everything on your tab and pay at the end. They only ask your name and just put everything on your tab. The nice thing is they take all major credit cards including American Express.
The beach itself was nice and perfect for small children. In fact, there were lots of families with kids and they had a store that sold all kinds of toys, inflatable mattresses, sunscreen, etc. Make sure not to forget your sunscreen. We forgot ours at our apartment and they charge €18 for a bottle of suntan lotion so definitely bring yours from home.
The water is perfect as it's not cold and not too warm and clean. There aren't strong tides so it's perfect for kids to play in. Wearing a top is optional for women. We saw plenty of females with no tops on so keep that in mind if that sort of thing bothers you. It's a really nice beach for families and we really enjoyed it.
We are staying in an apartment overlooking the Casino Gardens just 1 block from the Hotel de Paris hotel and it's fabulous. The last time I came to Monte Carlo I stayed in Nice and just came to Monte Carlo for a day trip (and came back at night for the view at the Palace). We are enjoying staying here. Monte Carlo is a really classy, very clean and beautiful city. We rented a car as we are going to explore the Riviera and use our apartment for a base. Our apartment has a garage which makes it convenient but there are plenty of parking garages around the city center. In fact, next to Larvotto beach there is a parking garage if you are coming from other areas and have a car.
We're headed to St. Tropez tomorrow as we are staying in at a hotel for 2 nights to enjoy the beaches there.

Larvotto Beach is a Family Friendly beach. It is located not far from the Monte-Carlo Country Club and the nearest parking garage is right next to the beach with fees:: 3 hours=8 Euros.
It is a mix of many private beaches and 1 public beach. The private beach has fees starting at 25 Euros for a chair a person and 5 euros extra for an umbrella. The public beach is just as nice and laying there on a towel is very comfortable. The beaches' ground is many tiny pebbles (they are very easy to brush of your feet unlike sand). The public beach also has a playground for your kids, a volleyball court, and a cafe ( pretty expensive but besides the point ). Unfortunately it was drizzling after we came but the water was still warm. The water is not deep, it is clean, and comfortable to walk on ( coming from someone with sensitive feet ;) ) There are not many people at this beach because from the road it doesn't look like there is a public beach. I definitely recommend this beach.

We went to Larvotto Beach as part of a day in Monte Carlo seeing the sights. The beach is quite something to see with numerous shops along the bottom of the promenade. They are very expensive but useful for grabbing last minute things you forgot for the beach. There are several restaurants that have chairs and umbrellas all the way down to the water and charge you 22 Euros for 2 chairs and an umbrella.
One thing that was odd is you cannot change into your bathing suit in the washrooms but instead you need to use change rooms that cost 2.60 Euro.
Parking was easy, just across the street is a massive underground parking garage. Actually very inexpensive as a whole day costs 13 Euros.
And by the way, it is not sand on the beach but tiny pebbles.

The construction will get rid of this beach. One of the few free things in Monaco. Construction in and in front of this beach will make this beach disappear forever.
