For the past 2 years we have skied in Pas de la Casa but this year decided to have a change and I am so glad we did. 61 runs between Soldeu and El Tartar and all easily interconnected. Never much of a queue at the Gondola even though we chose the chair lift up every day. Enough supermarkets, bars... More

A much underrated ski area with convenient access to ski area from hotel, apartments and car parks. Biggest issue for British skiers is the journey time from airports specifically Barcelona

Andorra was never on my radar as far as skiing is concerned until last weekend. After moving to Barcelona last October, I had resigned myself to the fact that skiing would no longer be in easy reach. Little did I know that there is an amazing resort with great slopes and fantastic snow management just a three-hours-drive from my new... More

El Tarter is essentially a place to stay and ski or other mountain activities. There's no town centre as such, just a quirky supermarket which sells lots of standard and unusual stuff and a few other equally quirky shops. See separate review of hotels.

The three main villages of Pas de la Casa, Soldeu and El Tarter are all linked with ski runs and lifts, with even more lifts coming into the area from further down the valley. Known as the Grandvalira, with a claimed 210km's of pistes. Great ski area, with designated areas for beginners, special parks for snow boarders and jumpers, and... More

Second time in Soldeu skiing and loved it even more this time round. Great little village with a decent apres ski scene, more adults orientated however watching the Shambles in Fat Alberts is great for a drunken singalong or playing air guitar at the Harp.

I grew up in this place but haven't been for several years and I was a little apprehensive taking my boyfriend and my teenage kids...I needn't have been it was amazing. The Grandvalira resort is now world class, it and the village have facilities that better many big name Alpine resorts. Booking that week was one of the best things... More

We stayed in Soldeu and started out daily trips from here. We were very lucky with the weather and the snow conditions. Grandvalira resort has a lot to offer for everybody and every skill level. We stayed last year in Pas de la Casa and I prefer the Soldeu area.
