St Hilarion Castle

This is an incredible place to visit, a large mountain top castle with a very large footprint considering its setting.

Today we visited St. Hilarion castle. A mighty walk but well worth it. We rented a taxi from Ledra street that took us to various stops. The castle is impressive in size and state. It is easy to move around and see all points. The view is like none other and imagine on a clear day is unbelievable! Not sure... More

Fascinating, beautiful, and superb views. Not to be missed. A bit of climbing involved, but nothing too strenuous.

A slight detour uphill on the route from Nicosia to Kyrenia. A nice looking castle with fine views from the top. It does take about half an hour to climb all those stairs (fairly fit), but to be avoided in the scorching heat.

We were a party of four and parked in the lower car park. We were thankful of a sunny if cool day to visit as there are fantastic views from the castle, especially along the spine of the Kyrenia Hills as far as the next crusader castle at Buffavento. Over the years the ballustrades and other features have been made... More

This is a spectacular ruin well worth a visit. The castle is quite well preserved considering the age. The view of Kyrenia and the coast line is amazing, so the climb to the top is worth it. As with so much else in Cyprus the place is full of litter, mainly water bottles on the top. It would also had... More

The castle is one of the highlights of this southern region of Cyprus that is inhabited by Turks after the invasion back in 1974. It was nice to be back! I have memories from my childhood out here, and I must have visited it more than 20 times so far. We never missed coming here when we would visit the... More

The castle is overwhelming, I was amazed by the construction of the castle on the mountain at the period it was built.

Had a great day with family while exploring the Castle and we managed to reach the summit which was a great achievement for my 4 year old nephew.
