A nice stop!

We got there just before it closed, and the woman was nice and stayed for a few more minutes as we looked around. Beautiful paintings inside. Recommend.

Unbelievable in a way this is actually a church, but that's the beauty of several of these churches under a UNESCO inscription. It's this that got us to visit and I'm very glad we did. The architecture itself is interesting and unusual and the frescoes inside are vivid and beautiful. Can't believe it's been here since 11th century (with various... More

Very interesting church, just outside Kakopetria, which is nearly always open during the day, with a warden in charge. Not like some, where the key-holder is miles away! Good frescoes, and postcards of same for sale.

We had a quick visit to this Lovely little church close to Kakopetria, Troodos, Cyprus. No photos allowed inside but lots of postcards and books available. Beautiful paintings on walls and ceilings. Friendly Nun kept us company.

We had seen signs everywhere to this and thought why not and what a gorgeous little find it was! Such history to this place, and abandoned. Not difficult to find but very interesting to see and even though it could 5-10 minutes seeing it as it is very small but worth it reading about the place!

I must admit I had reservations about going to visit here, but it was well worth the effort... and completely free!! The inside is stunning, and some parts are 12th century. We would have happily paid!

we hiked to the church and it was a nice way and worth it. The paintings are extraordinary. And if needed two restaurants are around for a snack or a drink.

If you travel to Troodos, take some time from your road to visit this church. It is an UNESCO Heritage Site with the characterized "Painted Churches in the Troödos Region". Old church almost 1000 years old with murals of Greek Orthodox Christian Saints. The place is in the forest of Troodos.

This Byzantine church with a double roof and interesting icons and frescos dating back to the 12 the century has been recognized as a UNESCO heritage site. The history of the church is explained on a sign outside of the entrance, to the right. The access is easy and the parking is very close to the church.
