Had we not been on a guided tour with an offer to stop here for a wine tasting, we probably would not have visited on our own, as our research into the winery before our trip only referred to groups and reservations being required, but no mention about individuals being able to visit outside of established tours.
I believe there may be lots of others like us and so the winery could do much more business if it clarified or provided more info on the Lichtenstein Tourismus website.
Basically, anyone can visit at any time and go to the front desk and request a tasting during their opening hours Monday-Friday: 8am – 12 noon & 1:30pm – 6pm. Saturday: 9am – 1pm.
You can walk through the vineyard and see all the varieties being grown. The vines are labelled at the end of each row, so it was interesting to see e.g. Chardonnay, Gamay and Moscato Rosa and Giallo plants.
They provide 3 samples for tasting and it’s a lovely ambience with the old stone floors, low ceiling and candlelight, surrounded by the winery’s stock. We were warmly greeted and seated. Our guide couldn’t drink and drive, so they provided him with coffee while he waited, which was so very kind of them!
We were given 2016 Pinot Noir Vaduzer samples (2 red, 1 white) – a Blanc, Bocker (oak, cherry, plum) and Herawingert (cracked pepper, dark red fruits).
All full-bodied and with quite an effect on us, especially at 10am in the morning!
We really enjoyed our visit here! We bought a bottle after our tasting which made the best souvenir of our trip to the Prince’s winery and Vaduz!

The winery is on the edge of town and not difficult to find. We visited in early March, and while there were no grapes to see, we had a lovely time having a wine tasting. For 5 CHF, we were offered three varieties of wine: Riesling (which is actually made from the Princes grapes grown in Austria), Federweiss, and Vaduzer Pinot Noir. All were very unique and we enjoyed them very much. The hostess was a very lovely woman who even offered us a fourth sampling of a dessert wine. We were the only patrons there at the time, but we had a very pleasant experience and the samples were a very generous size. We could only purchase two bottles due to luggage restrictions, but would have purchased more. Prices were very reasonable (I live in the southwestern USA), average price around 15-18 CHF per bottle for this rare wine. I would recommend to all visiting Vaduz.

We walked to this place from Vaduz Castle and the Red House. It was a quick 20 minute walk through a really pretty area in the city.
When we arrived we were offered a quick tour and then participated in a local wine tasting. All the wines were fantastic! I especially like a White Pinot Noir.
Highly recommended for wine lovers!!

Visited in summer 2014. Reviewed website in advance, which is necessary for a small establishment like this. Tours are typically offered as part of a city train tour.
Our trip to Liechtenstein did not coincide with train so I asked if we could visit at a scheduled time. I was thrilled they were able to give us a private tasting. Knowing this is not always possible, we were very pleased.
Even if you can't get a private tour and tasting, look online ahead of time and enjoy the winery for what it is: A unique vineyard in a small country. Learning about how they select and make most of the wine for the Prince.

The Hofkellerei are the Prince of Liechtensteien"s exquisite wine cellars. The staff is very hospitable and the cozy atmosphere makes this a great destination to learn more about wine making in Liechtenstein. Visitors have the opportunity to walk along the wine trail and experience the wine making process from grapevine to final product. Wine lovers can taste several of Liechtenstein"s high-quality, award-winning wines. Excellent cellar

we walked from the centre to the Hofkellerei, through the vineyard, and got an almost as cool welcome as the weather outside. We asked for the wine tasting, and were served in a quite reserved way. Maybe we arrived too late (around 16h30), or didn't look like potential buyers, but it was certainly not a customer oriented approach. We didn't regret the 9 CHF per person, but there could have been a little more smile (and a little more wine too)

I liked a lot the wines and bought one white and one red. I didn't care about the price so I didn't even ask, but well I spent 60CHF. So if you don't wanna spend a lot, ask before how much the bottles cost, they are pretty expensive

We were here as part of a tour and they did a tasting for us. The setting and glassware were very good and it was educational as I knew nothing about the local wines. The wines were pleasant but not world class. The ladies running it gave good presentations and happily answered any questions. We got up the hill on a little train and the area does have a good view of the castle.

My wife and I walked out to the Hofkellerei from the centre of Vaduz (a little challenging due to road construction). The staff was helpful and instructive concerning the wines. They offered a broad sample of the various wines available. The time was closed with a complimentary glass of wine. All in all it compares well with other wineries we have visited
