Attractive Building

Lovely building in the heart of the Old Town. Unfortunately tours were not available whilst we were visiting but it is open to the public during the summer months.

Easy to find in the centre. Fun to watch the guard do his march back and forth. Unfortunately, facility was not open to the public.

I lived in Luxembourg for 6 years and never once did I get an invitation to visit the palace. ;) It's beautiful and a great place to get a couple touristy photos. Sometimes they have a palace guard out front wearing his boots off marching to and fro.

Our guide Michaela was excellent at explaining why the turrets were all different and why there were varying amounts of guards on different days. We could not go inside, but from the outside the ornate embellishments made it a worthy sight to see despite the temperature being minus 8 at the time.

There are soldiers here who perform their stylised parading outside. It interesting to note the different periods of construction which is reflected in the architecture.

Reading the reviews, it appears to be closed most of the time, so it's a walk by, wave to the guards pacing back & forth, take a photo, and wonder why you bothered.

How can you go to Luxembourg City and not see the Palace? Its amazing to see it in the middle of the city and experience the changing of the Guards. We were lucky enough to see an official car with one of the Royals leave the Palace. But don't miss having a hot chocolate in the shop directly across from... More

Not sure if you can go in on some days but not when we visited. It is nice to talk past. Great cafe outside you and sit and have a hot chocolate and see the view

This is the official residence of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The head of state of the Grand Duchy does most of his work here. There are honor guards in front (very impressive) and it is a beautiful building though hard to see with good perspective since its surrounded by other buildings. I would have loved to have gone inside... More
