This church is not as popular as some other touristy destinations in Echternach but is really worth your while. It is built on Roman ruins and there is a Roman fountain inside it.

What a great little church. Liked it better than the abbey. Unique. Nice grounds. Cool 'basement'. Worth the visit.

On Easter Sunday, the last chair in the Basilica of Echternach was occupied. Nobody was around in this old but beautifully restored church. Goes back to Roman times with a well in the crypt as part of the fortifications against Germanic tribes.

Locals pretend that's constructed on an old roman site and the gothic church date from the 10 & 11 century; nice frescos.

Actually more interesting than the Abbey in many ways, this old raised church sits on Roman remains and is worth a visit.
