We enjoy walking our dog here. Its not a place to spend the day but rather a place to enjoy for a short time. This prison turned military base boasts a view of both the atlantic ocean and also the capital. A guide may be...More

A cold desolate place. A small fortress, one can climb over, but not enter. A few old cannons and two WWII guns stand on the grass.

It is so small fortress that you think how much it actually could protect the city? But better a small one than none at all. Good views to the harbour, a lighthouse and a few old cannons. Worth visiting, it won't take long.

This place was a highlight of the visit to Tórshavn. Probably because it was under a lovely setting sun, but this lighthouse/ fort is a very impressive sight

A must place to see while visiting Thorshavn. This very old and very "primitive" fortress shows how open the Faroe Islands used to be (still are) and still it offered the necessary protections against pirates. It is a cosy place to walk and to enjoy...More
