For a library, it is very beautiful from outside. It seems that you need some paperwork to get inside.

A collection ofvery important manuscripts, documents and books dating back to te time of the Knights of St. John. Not to be missed when visiting Malta
Location and architecture of this place is a great representation of just how important role education had, and still has, in Malta. In front of the entrance is very striking monument to Queen Victoria, which only bring more importance to the whole place.
This place is exquisite! The books date so far back and it's set in such a beautiful room. Great preservation work. I just wish they sold postcards of the library!

I recently took my students to see the restoration process and old manuscipts from the Knights period. We were all mesmerised. If you're a tourist and happen to be in Valletta, don't miss the National Library. It's a must.
