Saw this advertised in the main shopping street in Valetta and investigated a bit further. As previously stated this film is actually shown in the cinema on the top floor of the Embassy shopping centre. Costs 7 euros each for adults and lasts about 35 minutes. The film itself is available in 7 or 8 languages via headphones and is... More

Located in the Embassy shopping complex off St lucia street, this is a cinema experience that takes around 35 minutes and takes the viewer through Valletta past, from early settlers and the great siege too the heavy bombing of ww2. This is a good introduction to Valletta and worth visiting before seeing the rest of the city. Show times are... More

Of the many shows in Valletta recounting Maltese history, we chose Valletta Living History at 7 euros entry fee. It is in the form of a movie, shown in a cinema. Actors re-create the historical episodes in Maltese history from pre-historic times onward. A great introduction for those who have little knowledge of the past and quite entertaining for those... There are many exhibitions, film shows etc about Malta's history in Valletta - not tried this one before but worth a visit. We found the 5D Experience of Malta's history more enjoyable, the Living History film tells much the same story in 30 minutes but is a dramatised version without the abundent CGI and other effects of the 5D show.... Excellent 30-minute movie that combines the present with past re-enacted. I truly appreciate what this tiny nation has been through to keep alive.

Situated at the Empire cinemas down on Republic Street, it's a good possibility to get a quick overview of the history of Malta and the town of Valletta. As Malta's history is quite dense with many invasions and foreign rulings, the movie provides an easy way to understand the developments on the island with the correct chronology. Should be one... Initially a bit scripted and wooden, however great re-enactments, and beautiful scenery shots. Puts valletta into perspective. Seems a bit epesive however pefect if you have a malta pass.

Before you visit anything els, go to "The Malta Experience". The Malta-film will give you an overall idea, what to see or do, in 18 different languages ! Even the capital city of Malta, Valetta, only is 1000 by 800 meters, will it take you most of a day, seeing all the interesting places. Specially the Government's Palace with the... More
